Our experience at the Verdun Protestant Hospital with the use of stilboestrol in suppression of male sexual behaviour has been reviewed.
This report deals chiefly with the results of administration of 1 to 10 mg. daily to fifteen patients in a controlled study.
The Clinical use of Stilboestrol for Suppression of Sexual Behaviour of Chronically Ill Male Psychiatric Patients, The British Journal of Psychiatry, 105/440/762, Jul 1959.
Six of the fifteen showed suppression of sexual behaviour, two became disturbed in relation to treatment with the drug, and the remainder manifested no definite change.
The results are discussed in the light of present knowledge of the subject.
